One of the most iconic and sought after of all Gibson made flat tops, this 1974 Gibson J-200 Artist is a fantastic example of a mid '70s Gibson Jumbo.
Briefly renamed the J-200 Artist in the early '70s, this guitar features a Spruce top with Maple back and sides, along with a five piece Maple neck. The fretboard features pearl 'pineapple' crest inlays, and the 4 point filled in bridge is present and correct for the period. Suprisingly for one of these models from this period, this J-200 Artist is incredibly lightly built and extremely resonant, with a tone and projection akin to earlier J-200 models. The guitar is finished in a vibrant Sunburst and includes the traditional ornate pickguard that makes these models so recognisable.
This guitar is in very good condition for its age, with only minimal signs of play wear and patina to the finish. It is free of any repair work and retains the original waffle back tuners and all other hardware.
This guitar has been given a full service by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
